Transgard

TransGard is the transportation sector of InfraGard, and has been established to engage transportation professionals in the managing of potential crisis or catastrophic events in the State of Iowa. TransGard members are from all sections of the state transportation industry, including Law Enforcement, State and Federal DOT, and business that ship freight and small package commodities though out the state. In addition other related transportation entities are members, such as Iowa Propane Gas Association, Iowa Department or Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and private security companies.

TransGard’s main goal is for the transportation industry to be better prepared to support our community in the event of a catastrophe, either natural or man made. As transportation professional we come for all facets of the transportation industry. Our combined expertise, allows us to create a more effective and professional response. Law Enforcement can benefit from one organized group that can provide valuable data from various transportation related organizations.

In addition TransGard members receive and distribute information about potential concerns within our industry. Many of our members are competitors with each other; great care is taken to not disclose any competitive information. We have developed a process where we can meet the needs of TransGard objectives and maintain a healthy business environment.

By bringing the private and public transportation industry together we create a valuable commodity that can assist law enforcement in numerous was in the event of a crisis in the State of Iowa. With informative meetings and training agendas we learn new ways to protect our communities, families, and business interests.
